Impartiality, Equality and Inclusion Policy
The Impartiality, Equality, and Inclusion Policy is developed to support a safe and inclusive environment within the Caritas Ukraine network.
Impartiality, Equality, and Inclusion Policy:
- defines the principles of impartiality, equality, inclusivity, and expectations related to them;
- enshrines Caritas Ukraine’s commitment to creating a working and organizational space based on these principles;
- is based on the identity, values, and principles of Caritas Ukraine, as defined in the Code of Ethics and Conduct.
Caritas Ukraine respects the dignity, rights, and diversity of staff, affiliated persons, people in need (beneficiaries), and undertakes to: respect, protect, and promote human rights recognized by Ukrainian legislation and international standards, for all without any discrimination; and to implement the principles of equality, impartiality, and inclusiveness in daily work, relationships, and practices.
Impartiality – a principle meaning the recognition, acceptance, and respect for differences among people regarding race, skin color, political, religious, and other beliefs, sex, age, disability, ethnic and social origin, citizenship, family and property status, place of residence, linguistic or other characteristics that have been, are, or may be actual or presumed. Caritas Ukraine recognizes and adheres to the principle of impartiality, which promotes social cohesion.
Equality – a principle meaning the creation of equal conditions for access to resources, opportunities, education, employment, and participation in public life for all people, considering equal dignity, value, and rights regardless of their characteristics or status.
Inclusivity – a principle according to which the full participation of all people, especially vulnerable groups, in social, economic, and cultural life on equal terms is ensured. It involves removing barriers and creating an environment where everyone feels accepted and has the opportunity to develop.
